レバノン　ベイルートにHQを置くマヤディーンTV。アル・ジャジーラから飛び出したジャーナリストによって開局された。CM収入ではなく、支援者からの資金によって運営されている。レポートは情状的ではなく、編集からは市民に寄り添おうという気持ちが見てとれる。あらゆる勢力が映像メディアを使って世論に訴えてくる時代にあって、とてもとても小さなテレビ局だが、一本筋の通ったまじめな報道姿勢に、ジャーナリズムとは本来こういうものなのかもしれない－と思わされる。
